Lyrical Interpretations of children....

I remember when I was younger, mistaking Skim Milk for "Skin Milk". I never wanted to drink it because I thought it had pieces of skin in it. A few years ago, my niece Holley asked her mom if the soap was to help the sleigh move more easily through the snow.....when hearing the song Jingle Bells she heard, "with a one horse soap n sleigh." Why am I telling you all this you ask...well today, I overheard Rhees singing the song from Sleeping Beauty. As I was listening to her sing, I thought I heard her say the words...so ugly. I was wracking my brain to figure out where she had heard that from. I asked her...did you just sing, "your so ugly?". At which point she answered, "no, I said your eyes are so ugly." I realized then she had mistaken the phrase, "the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam" for " the glue in your eyes are so ugly." Ahh the romance! tee hee! We got a pretty good laugh out of that! I love the entertainment of children!
